2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my
name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn
from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive
their sin and will heal their land.
A. Those who humble themselves - Luke
The Parable of the Pharisee and the
To some who were confident of their
own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told
this parable: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a
Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and
prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other
men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this
tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'
"But the tax collector stood at
a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast
and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
"I tell you that this man, rather
than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who
exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will
B. Pray - 1 Thessalonians 5:17
C. Seek My Face - Psalm 27:8
When You said, "Seek My face,"
my heart said to You, "Your face, O LORD, I shall seek."
D. Turn from our wicked ways - Confess
and Repent - 1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful
and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
For God so loved the world that He
gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not
perish but have eternal life.
How can you be saved ?
For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory
of God (Romans 3:23)
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and
only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have
eternal life. (John 3:16)
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the
Father (God) except through me" (John 14:6)
He (Jesus) was
with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without
him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that
life was the light of men. (John 1 :2-4). "For in him we live
and move and have our being.....We are his offspring. (Acts 17:28)
Jesus said, "If
anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes
in me....streams of living water will flow from within him"
Jesus said, "I
am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live,
even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never
die. Do you believe this?" (John 11: 25-26)
If you believe in Jesus, pray to the Him. You can
use the following prayer if it reflects your desire. Remember, God
looks at what is in your heart. Using your own words is fine too.
Lord Jesus, I need you in my life for I am a sinner.
I believe you died on the cross for me to save me from my sins.
Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open my heart to
you and receive you as my precious Savior and Lord. Thank you for
your forgiveness of my sins. Thank you for giving me eternal life.
Make me the person You want me to be. Take control of my life and
I surrender all to You.
